Fund-raising Ideas

50/50

A "50/50" party doesn't raise a lot of money, but for a group who might be content with $500 to $1000; it's a pretty easy program to run. They are great for Little League, Parent/Teacher Associations (PTA), School Groups, etc.

Establish a date, time, and prices to be charged and what menu items will be included at the event. Most party usually include: bowling, shoes, drinks, prizes for colored pin strikes, and door prizes.

Example: You want $7.50 from each bowler to cover the cost of their bowling. If you sell tickets for $15.00 you make a profit of $7.50 for your organization. An event with 60 participants will make our organization $450.00 not including a raffle which is highly recommended.

Bowl-A-Thon

A Bowl-A-Thon will generate the most income in the shortest amount of time, but requires the most work by the participants. There are three basic steps to a Bowl-A-Thon:

1. Soliciting Pledges

2. Bowling

3. Collecting Pledges

Pledges can be based on a certain amount per pin, per game; or they can be a flat rate amount ($5.00 or $10.00), which is the most recommended method.

The bowling portion can consist of any number of games (3 is most common).

It is always harder to collect money after the event. That's why we recommend that participates solicit pledges for a flat rate amount.

How much can be raised?

A group of 100 people participate. Each person gets an average of 10 sponsors to pledge a flat amount of $5.00. Here's how it adds up:

100 people x 10 sponsors x $5.00 = $5,000.00

As you can see, the money adds up quickly with relatively little effort per individual.

Corporate Lane Sell

The Corporate Lane Sell can be used in conjunction with any type of fundraiser. The way it works is you sell the lanes to sponsoring companies for a set amount. The sponsoring company gets to bring 5 or 6 people to the fund-raising extravaganza. Ordinarily, corporate lanes sells are sold for $100, $250, $500, and even $1000.00

A fund-raising event with 12 lanes can make an extra $6000.00 for their cause.
(12 lanes @ $500 = $6,000)
